Pixel grid
Every icon is drawn on a 16 × 16 grid with integer coordinates and orthogonal steps. Render at 16, 32, or 64 pixels. Keep placement on whole pixels and avoid scaling an icon to an in-between size.

An impressed treatment can make a quiet marker feel part of the page. A raised treatment can help a control feel pressable. Keep the relief shallow and the silhouette legible. Relief shifts by one whole source-grid cell, never a fraction of a cell. See the tactile edge recipes for exact tokens. The icon still needs a useful label where its meaning could be unclear.
